Loris, SC man arrested for attempted murder. He allegedly fired shots at a local club
A man from Loris was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with attempted murder and third-degree assault and battery for two separate incidents.
Malik Alan Crawford, 25, was arrested at noon and booked at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
No bail has been set and he remains incarcerated, according to Horry County booking records.
While Crawford was booked on an attempted murder charge, an incident report lists aggravated assault. An arrest warrant for the attempted murder charge has been requested.
On Sept. 4, around 4 a.m., officers responded to the Loris area in reference to two victims with a gunshot wound, the report says. One victim was at a local club when he received gunshot wounds, and drove to the hospital with a bullet fragment in his left foot.
A second victim said Crawford got into a fight with a patron at the club and was kicked out, but returned with a gun and started to shoot, the report said.
After speaking with victims, officers went to the club and secured the crime scene. A third person was brought into the hospital with gunshot wounds from this event.
Crawford is also facing third-degree assault and battery charges for a separate incident.
In late July of 2020, Crawford allegedly pulled a gun and used it as a blunt instrument, causing injury to a woman’s forehead, an incident report states.
It’s not clear what local club the September incident occurred at.
