Horry hospital patient steals van after running out of facility without being discharged

A patient stole a Little River hospital maintenance van Wednesday after leaving the hospital without being medically discharged.

Paige Johnson, 26, is charged with grand larceny with a value of $10,000 or more, according to online booking records.

The Longs woman apparently stole the unlocked vehicle from McLeod Seacoast Hospital after running out of the building. Officers found her driving near Highway 90 and Water Tower Road and pulled her over, according to an incident report.

Johnson had been booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center Wednesday and released Friday after posting a $10,000 bond.

She was arrested by the Horry County Police Department.
