One person was arrested in connection to a fatal crash that happened on U.S. 501 and Conbraco Circle early Monday morning.

South Carolina Highway Patrol spokesperson Cpl. David Jones confirmed that Manuel Ixetepan-Seba, 46, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in death.

He is booked at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center with a $40,000 bond, online booking records show.

The crash happened at 3:20 a.m. on Monday, when a driver of a Chevrolet Colorado was going south on U.S. 501 and ran into the back of a GMC Sierra, Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell said in a press release.

The passenger in the Chevrolet died, and the driver was taken to a hospital with injuries.

The person who died has not been identified. The occupant of the GMC was not injured.

Horry County Fire Rescue had advised drivers to avoid the area because traffic was blocked. Some lanes were closed for several hours.
