Myrtle Beach police investigating a purse snatching
Myrtle Beach police are investigating a robbery that happened in the 1500 block of Yaupon Drive.
On Saturday about 2:42 p.m., the victim was walking along Yaupon Drive when a man asked her for money to buy dog food.
According to the police report, the suspect demanded her purse and the victim refused.
She then placed the purse between her legs, however, the suspect grabbed it and was able to break the purse strap, freeing the purse.
The suspect then ran with the purse and was last seen on Ocean Boulevard heading east on 16th Avenue South, according to the report.
Police say the suspect is a white male with short brown hair with highlights and a mole on top of his lip. He was wearing a white tank top and faded blue jean shorts.
