Myrtle Beach man charged with assault after fondling woman
A Myrtle Beach man is charged with burglary and assault and battery after fondling a woman in a hotel room.
Terry Glenn Johnson, 41, was arrested Thursday and charged with burglary first degree and assault and battery first degree, according to Myrtle Beach police Lt. Joey Crosby.
Officers were called about 3:40 a.m. Thursday to a hotel at 1007 S. Ocean Blvd. where a female victim said an unknown male entered her room without permission, according to a police report. The victim had left the door ajar for her roommate, Crosby said.
While in the room, Johnson began touching the woman’s “private parts above her clothing,” without consent, Crosby said. The victim awoke and Johnson fled the room, police said.
Myrtle Beach detectives and crime scene officers were called to the hotel to investigate, police said.
The victim was able to describe Johnson’s clothing and he was apprehended a short time later with no incident, Crosby said.
Johnson is at the Myrtle Beach jail awaiting bond.
