A man was arrested after police said he walked out of a Wal-Mart store without paying for a television.

Michael Christian Lee, 27, whose hometown was not listed, was charged with shoplifting, according to a police report.

Myrtle Beach police were called about 1:45 p.m. Thursday to the Wal-Mart on Seaboard Street where a 44-year-old male, a store employee, reported the incident.

The employee said that about 1:30 p.m. he saw Lee walk out of the electronics department with a television, police said.

The employee said Lee removed a wrapper from the television and walked out without paying for it, authorities said.

The employee said he then stopped Lee just outside the store.

While being taken to the Myrtle Beach Jail, Lee said what he did was stupid, police said.
