A Coastal Carolina University student has died, law enforcement called to investigate death
A Coastal Carolina University student has died and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has been called in to investigate.
The student’s name and cause of death have not been officially released.
SLED was requested to step in Sunday night, according to SLED spokesperson Renée Wunderlich.
Students had been asked to avoid the area of Magnolia Hall after 6 p.m. Sunday due to police activity, according to a Twitter post.
After two updates around 11 p.m., officials announced that routine operations could resume.
The Horry County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the student at a later time.
