Horry County police arrested three people Thursday in connection a Conway shooting where three men exchanged gunfire from cars.

Harley Oneil Rabon, 20, of Conway, and Sterling Raphael Van Fore, 22, of Aynor, are charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime and three counts of attempted murder each.

Manuel J. Arteaga, 20, of Conway, is charged with pointing and presenting a firearm at a person and unlawful possession of a pistol.

The men are awaiting bond at J. Reuben Detention Center, according to Lt. Raul Denis.

Horry County police responded to Pawley Swamp Road Wednesday night around 8:30 a.m. for a shooting. The caller told dispatch that two men were firing an assault rifle at his car while driving home and attempting to push the victim off the road, according to the police report.

When officers responded to the scene they learned a gunshot victim was transported to Conway Medical Center, Denis said.

The victim told police he entered his residence at Pauley Swamp Road and retrieved a single barrel shotgun and fired it into the air when the suspects fled, the report said. The suspects returned and began shooting at the victim’s house, where one suspect was shot.

Police investigators said the resident at Pauley Swamp Road and the two occupants of the vehicle that followed him there had exchanged gunfire at the residence, resulting in two of them receiving non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Police recovered two pistols, two shotguns, and an assault rifle.
