Myrtle Beach police arrest man for shining laser pointer at people on the beach
Myrtle Beach Police arrested a man after he allegedly shined a laser pointer at people on the beach.
Willie Thomas Cozart, 49, was arrested and charged with prohibited use of a laser pointer.
Police were called to the 2900 block of South Ocean Boulevard around 11:45 p.m. Saturday after receiving complaints of a laser being pointed from a hotel balcony.
According to the police report, officers were talking with the victims, when they said they also had the laser allegedly pointed at them.
Police then went to Cozart’s room and asked him about the laser. Cozart claimed he did not know he was shining it on anyone, according to the report.
