A North Carolina woman has been arrested in connection to a fatal crash in July on S.C. 31.

Shanika Jones, 27, of Supply, has been charged with reckless homicide. She was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center Friday and released a few hours later on a $5,000 bond, according to online jail records.

Kamiyah Belvin, 23, of Henderson, North Carolina, was killed in the July 1 crash, WBTW-TV reported.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and “appeared to be pregnant,” according to a North Myrtle Beach police report obtained by the TV station.

Jones, Belvin and an unidentified person were all traveling in a vehicle going the wrong way on the highway when they ran into a Myrtle Beach couple between mile markers 3 and 4 around 5 a.m, according to the report.

The couple was transported to a local hospital.

Jones and the other passenger were also hospitalized.
