Police investigate shooting in Myrtle Beach that left driver injured

An investigation is underway after a shooting left a driver injured Wednesday in Myrtle Beach, police said.

The shooting occurred after 1 a.m. near Highway 501 and Broadway Street, according to a Myrtle Beach Police Department Facebook post.

Officers responded to the scene after hearing multiple gunshots. On their way over, they saw where a vehicle had crashed near 8th Avenue North and Kings Highway, the post stated. They found the driver had gunshot wounds.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital. That person’s condition is unclear.
