Police respond after woman’s purse snatched at apartment complex

Police were called after a woman said a man grabbed her purse, containing her credit cards, checkbook, and cellphone, from her while she was walking through the parking lot of an apartment complex, authorities said.

Myrtle Beach officers were called about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday to the Bay Pointe Apartments at 1400 Fisher Drive where a 55-year-old woman reported the incident.

The victim told police she parked her car near the apartment complex office. The victim said she rounded a corner while walking toward her daughter’s apartment and a male suspect grabbed her purse, police said.

The victim said she then watched the suspect jump a fence and head toward Carver Apartments, according to the report.

The victim said she had her driver’s license and two wallets in the missing purse among other items, authorities said.

No arrests had been made in connection with the incident as of Thursday morning.
