Police responded after two men said another man grabbed a kitchen knife and started swinging at them, authorities said.

Theodore Roosevelt Bryant, 52, was charged with two counts of first-degree assault and battery, according to jail records.

Myrtle Beach officers were called about 11:40 p.m. Monday to an apartment on the 200 block of Cedar Street where a 32-year-old man and 41-year-old man reported the incident, according to a police report.

The victims told authorities they were watching television together when they heard Bryant arguing with his girlfriend in a bedroom. The victims each told police Bryant then told them and his girlfriend to leave, police said.

The victims said Bryant then left for a short time and when he came back, he told the victims to leave again. The victims said Bryant then got a knife from the kitchen and started swinging it at them and demanding they get out, police said.

The victims said they ran outside and were not injured.
