Myrtle Beach police respond to an argument between a landlord and an evicted tenant

Myrtle Beach police responded to an altercation in the 900 block of Canal Street on Sunday about 8 p.m.

The incident involved a landlord and the tenant he was evicting from a trailer.

According to the police report, the landlord said he arrived on the property and noticed damage. He then entered the home to find the tenant still had belongings inside.

While he was in the trailer, the tenant returned and found the landlord looking through her items. According to the report, the landlord told police he was just looking for valuables to put aside for her, so they would not be stolen.

According to the report, both told police a different version of what happened. The landlord claims that the tenant allegedly grabbed a golf club from the back of her truck and threatened him with it. However, the tenant says the landlord allegedly pulled a gun on her and threatened to kill her.

A witness told police that he did not see either one of them use a weapon, he only saw them arguing.

Because of the conflicting stories, no arrests were made.
