Myrtle Beach woman uses a kitchen knife to scare away intruder

A Myrtle Beach woman scares off a man who entered her apartment with a kitchen knife.

The 64-year old victim was watching television in her home Saturday night around midnight when a man broke into her home in the 400 block of 10th Ave. S., according to the police report.

The woman told police that she had her sliding glass door open, but the screen closed.

She says the man busted through the screen and his face was covered with a T-shirt.

The man allegedly was carrying a knife.

According to the report, the victim swung a kitchen knife at the suspect and he fled the apartment, dropping his knife along the way.

Police have not made an arrest and are still investigating.
