Shooting in front of Ocean Boulevard coffee shop leads to attempted murder charge
A Florence man faces an attempted murder charge after a shooting on Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach police said.
Myrtle Beach police responded to a reported shooting Sept. 6 on North Ocean Boulevard, according to police records.
Jamario Stevenson, 23, faces four criminal charges: attempted murder, unlawful carrying of a pistol, unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The shooting happened in front of Hi-Fi Coffee Bar on 918 N. Ocean Boulevard, police said.
The shooting was caught on city cameras, according to an arrest warrant. Stevenson was in front of University of Rock and Roll t-shirt store when he pulled a handgun from a bag and began shooting at someone who was running across the street, toward Ripley’s Haunted Adventure, according to Stevenson’s arrest warrants.
Stevenson’s criminal history revealed that he was prohibited from carrying a firearm, his arrest warrants stated.
Jail records show Stevenson was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Tuesday and remains incarcerated. His charges are not listed on the jail’s website.
The J. Reuben Long Detention Center states Stevenson is from Florence.
