A 59-year-old Conway man was arrested after authorities said he pointed a gun at a man and demanded the keys to his mo-ped, according to a police report.
Carl Moore was arrested Wednesday in connection with an incident that occurred June 17, and he was charged with armed robbery, authorities said.
Horry County police were called about 3 p.m. June 17 to a home on the 3000 block of Penson Road in Conway, where a 65-year-old man reported the incident, police said.
The victim said that Moore came to his home and wanted to use his new mo-ped. The victim said he told Moore that he would drive him to the store to get more beer, but that Moore could not use his mo-ped, authorities said.
The victim told police Moore then pulled a small pistol from his pocket and demanded the mo-ped keys. The victim said he gave the keys to Moore, who took the mo-ped, according to an arrest warrant.
A witness at the scene verified the victim’s account to police, according to the report.
Police said they searched the area for Moore just after the incident, but didn’t find him then.
Moore is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, and his bond was not set by Thursday morning.
