A taxi driver was arrested in connection with sexual exposure after witnesses told police they saw him on the beach wearing a shirt but no pants, according to a police report.

Alqi Dhimo, 51, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with sexual exposure on Monday and was being held at the Myrtle Beach Jail, and his bond had not been set as of Tuesday morning, according to jail records.

Officers were called about 3 a.m. Monday to a beach access at 77th Avenue North where two security guards reported the incident, police said.

The witnesses told police they saw Dhimo, who they said was a taxi driver, exposing himself the beach. They told authorities Dhimo was wearing a shirt, but no pants, according to the police report.

Police said when they approached Dhimo, they saw a young woman lying on the beach with little clothing on, and authorities said she appeared to be unconscious.

Police said Dhimo was wearing clothes when they found him. Authorities called EMS and crime scene officers to investigate and noted that a criminal sexual conduct may have happened.

Authorities said the incident is still under investigation.

Myrtle Beach police also responded to a call about a sexual exposure Wednesday at a local hotel, but no arrests were made, according to police report.

Officers were called about 4:45 p.m. to the La Quinta Inn and Suites at 4709 N. Kings Highway where two victims, whose ages were not listed in the report, told police about the incident, authorities said.

Police said the investigation was ongoing, and no further details of the alleged exposure were available in the report.
