Counterfeit bills used at a Myrtle Beach hotel

Myrtle Beach police are investigating counterfeit money that was used at a Myrtle Beach hotel.

Sunday about noon, a hotel manager reported to police that counterfeit bills were used at his business in the 400 block of 7th Avenue.

The manager turned in 15 counterfeit bills to police, according to the police report.

At the time the hotel received the bills, the hotel clerk did not check them with a marker pen.

Several of the bills had matching serial numbers.

According to the police report, it is unknown who used the bills.
