Person wounded in Monday morning’s shooting has died, Myrtle Beach police confirm

One person was fatally wounded in a Monday morning shooting in Myrtle Beach, police said.

Myrtle Beach Police were called about 11 a.m. to the 200 block of Cedar Street following a shooting, according to Master Cpl. Thomas Vest. Officers found one person suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The person was taken to a local hospital and died about 4 p.m., Vest said.

Police have not provided additional details about possible shooter or shooters, or why the gunfire occurred.

Authorities are investigating the shooting as a homicide, Vest said. The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not yet publicly identified the victim.
