Police investigate Myrtle Beach home break-in

Myrtle Beach police are investigating after a couple reported electronics, jewelry and cash were taken during a break-in that occurred at their home, according to a police report.

Officers were called about 12:15 a.m. Friday to an apartment on the 700 block of Carolina Cove Drive where a 31-year-old man, accompanied by his wife whose age was not listed, reported the incident.

The victim told police that he and his wife left Thursday afternoon and when they returned later, they found the door unlocked and noticed papers scattered on the floor.

The victim said they stepped out and called police, according to the report.

When authorities arrived, they noticed a window was broken and determined that was where the alleged suspect or suspects must have entered the home.

The couple said two Xbox gaming consoles were taken, along with a laptop computer, a karaoke machine, eight watches, other jewelry and cash, police said.

Police noted in the report the investigation was ongoing. No arrests had been made by 8 a.m. on Friday.
