Myrtle Beach police investigating after body found in a pond, victim identified

Update 10/1-The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the victim.

Myrtle Beach are investigating after a body was found in a pond.

Officers went to an area near 65th Avenue North around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a dead person, according to Myrtle Beach police Cpl. Thomas Vest. Police arrived and found the victim in a pond.

Officers are on scene and continue to investigate. There is no word on what led to the person’s death.

On Thursday, the Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Gregory Scott Hunsucker, 50. No foul play is suspected in his death.
