Woman shot and killed in Conway, infant suffers ‘life-threatening’ injuries
A 23-year-old woman died and a 2-year-old was injured in a Conway shooting Monday evening.
Police say the toddler was taken to the hospital with “life-threatening injuries.” There has been no update on the child’s condition as of Tuesday afternoon.
Conway police went to the 1600 block of Suggs Street around 7:30 p.m. for the reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found the woman dead from a gunshot wound, according to authorities. The 2-year-old was also shot.
The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the woman.
Police have not made any arrests and have not released any information on possible suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Conway police at 843-248-1790.
Neighbors declined to talk about the shooting with The Sun News, but said it happened at a white house. The house where the shooting supposedly happened was quiet on Tuesday morning. A few children’s toys were scattered throughout the front yard.
