Horry County police investigate shooting in Conway area, coroner called to the scene

Horry County police investigated a shooting in the Conway area Wednesday afternoon, but have been mum on many details.

Police responded to Warf Drive around 5 p.m. for the reported shooting. Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said it was his understanding they were called to the scene.

Yellow tape surrounded one mobile home in the Warf’s of Conway mobile home park off Highway 65 as officers investigated the crime. Horry County police did not release any details on what led to the shooting, whether anyone faces charges or how many people were injured.

Follow-up requests for information on Thursday were not answered in time for this report.

Nubia Rodriguez lives near the home where the shooting happened and said there were two men and a woman on the property before the incident. She added she hear the gunfire, which caused her to worry.

“I was scared, very scared,” Rodriguez said. “I’m scared, very nervous.”

Rodriguez and other neighbors in the community say it is a quiet neighborhood with little violence.
