Remains found of Myrtle Beach man reported missing. Two men are charged in his death.
Two people face life in prison for the suspected murder of a man reported missing from Myrtle Beach weeks ago.
Horry County police announced late Wednesday that Tyler Panzarella, 23, of Myrtle Beach, and Nicholas Henry, 19, of Tennessee, face murder charges in connection to the death of Kristofer Skye Bowling. Panzarella was also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Panzarella waived his initial appearance on Thursday, but it would have been a formality as a magistrate could not have set bond in his case. Only a circuit court judge can set bail on a murder charge.
Bowling was initially reported missing to Myrtle Beach Police Department on Aug. 2. He was last seen in the Market Common area on July 27. Myrtle Beach police asked for his help finding him on Aug. 20.
Myrtle Beach officers investigated Bowling’s disappearance and earlier this week followed a lead to the Lucas Bay Road area in Horry County.
Horry County police joined in the investigation where they found Bowling’s remains, officials say. Investigators then determined that Panzarella and Henry were suspects.
Neither Myrtle Beach police nor Horry County police provided details of the circumstances of Bowling’s death or how he was killed.
Panzarella is being held in J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Henry was arrested in Tennessee. Both men face life in prison if convicted. Panzarella has a minimal criminal history in Horry County. In 2017, he was found guilty of shoplifting in Myrtle Beach and paid $500 in fines and costs. Henry has no criminal history in the Myrtle Beach area, according to online records.
