An Horry County man was arrested last week for operating what police called a marijuana “grow house” from his home.

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division arrested 63-year-old Roger Roberts, who they say was operating a growing operation near Galivants Ferry, SC. They searched the residence and found more than 100 cannabis plants in the house, according to reports.

Roberts was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center last Wednesday and charged with drug trafficking. He was released on $15,000 bond.

If convicted he faces a mandatory prison term of 25 years, no part of which may be suspended nor probation granted, and a fine of 25,000, according to state law.
