Horry County police responding to shooting on Chanticleer Village Drive near Conway

One person was injured in a shooting near Carolina Forest on Monday afternoon, according to Horry County police.

Horry County police went to the Chanticleer Village Drive around 4 p.m. for the reported shooting. The victim was outside near a building an a suspect fled the area, according to police radio traffic.

Officers did not provide many details, but said the victim was taken to the hospital and the investigation remains ongoing. The complex is located between Carolina Forest and Conway.

Chanticleer Village Drive is the home of Indigo at 110 apartments, where earlier this year there were two robberies in the same week. There also were ties between a 2019 murder near Coastal Carolina University and a 2015 killing at Indigo at 110 — which then was called University Village at the Coast.

Despite the street name, the area is not in the immediate vicinity of Coastal Carolina University.
