Update: Horry County Police investigate death in shooting Wednesday outside Myrtle Beach

Horry County Police are investigating a death resulting from a shooting Wednesday night in the Forestbrook area outside of Myrtle Beach.

The police department confirmed Thursday morning that the victim succumbed to injuries incurred in the incident.

Around 10 p.m. Wednesday night police responded to a reported shooting near Claypond Road and Bush Drive. They found the man in an SUV that was in a ditch on the side of the road.

Residents were asked to steer clear of the intersection of Bush Drive and Claypond Road around 11 p.m. as officers and detectives investigated the scene.

Some roads were temporarily blocked during the investigation.
