Woman charged with murder in fatal shooting of man at his home in Longs, police say

A woman has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Longs, according to police.

Christina Bottoms, 20, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to police reports.

The Horry County Police Department responded to a reported shooting and found a man dead in his home early Wednesday. They launched an investigation immediately.

According to the coroner’s office, Timothy Bellamy, 22, was shot in the head and killed in his home in Longs at about 1:35 a.m.

Bottoms shot the man after an argument between the two, police said.

Bellamy died from his injuries. He was pronounced dead at his apartment at 248 Sun Colony Blvd.

No other suspects are wanted by police at this time. If found guilty, Bottoms could face the death sentence or between 30 years and a life sentence for murder.

She is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bond.
