Two people arrested in connection to downtown Myrtle Beach shooting

Two people face charges in connection to a June shooting in downtown Myrtle Beach.

Officers charged Ernest Rayquan Howard, 22, of Conway, with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Myrtle Beach police also charged Nydja Irene Davis with being an accessory to a felony.

Howard was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Tuesday and released on $10,000 bail. Davis was released on $5,000 bond.

On June 30, police responded to Flagg Street and 6th Avenue North for the reported shooting.

Investigators say Howard got into an argument with the victim and then shot him in the chest, according to arrest warrants.

Howard then ran to a nearby motel where he and Davis drove away from the area, according to the warrants.
