Armed suspect robs Conway area convenience store, Horry County police investigating

An armed suspect robbed a Conway area convenience store and Horry County police are investigating.

A suspect went into Jay’s Mini Mart, 4010 U.S. 501, around 7:30 a.m. Friday, according to a police report. The victim said the suspect approached the counter, held him at gunpoint and demanded money from the register.

The victim said he gave the money and the suspect got into a Dodge truck and fled on U.S. 501 towards Conway, the report states.

No one was hurt in the robbery, the report states.

The suspect had a gray jacket, hooded sweatshirt, black hat and a mask over his face. He also wore sunglasses, the victim told officers.

Horry County police have not announced any arrests in the case.
