Horry County police identify victim in fatal shooting in Loris, continue investigation
One person was shot and killed in a Loris area murder, officials say.
The shooting happened late Monday on Ino Drive, according to Horry County police. The victim was initially taken to the hospital and died hours later.
Mequaia Haywood, 27, was killed in the shooting, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office. Haywood was shot in the abdomen around 7 p.m. Monday.
Horry County police have not announced any arrests in connection to the shooting. Officers continue to investigate the shooting and anyone with information is asked to call 843-915-8477.
