Myrtle Beach woman dragged, grabbed daughter by throat, arrest warrant states
A Myrtle Beach woman accused of grabbing her daughter by the hair and dragging her, grabbing her by the throat and pinning her against a wall is facing a child neglect charge after being arrested by police on Friday.
According to an arrest warrant, on Wednesday Ashleigh Nicole Whitehead, 33, went to retrieve her daughter, who ran away the night before. Police responded at approximately 10:11 a.m.
The victim told police Whitehead forcibly tried to remove her from the apartment she went to, causing injuries police called “visible and consistent with a contusion on the skin of each side of the victim’s neck.”
Police determined that the evidence provided enough probable cause to make an arrest.
Child neglect in South Carolina is punishable of up to 10 years in prison.
