He is accused of shooting at a car with a person inside. Now he faces decades in prison.

A Longs man faces decades in prison after police say he shot at a car with a person inside.

Horry County police charged Keiwuan De’sha Hardy, 30, with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Thursday and is being held on $30,000 bond.

Officers responded to Pine Needle Drive in the Longs area on June 3 for a report of shots fired in a car.

They found the car in a ditch and one person complained of shoulder pain, according to the report. The victim said someone shot at his car as he drove. He ducked down, lost control and crashed into the ditch. The victim declined medical attention, according to the report.

Officers found a bullet hole in the car under the gas tank and in the front fender, according to the report.

A witness told police they heard gunshots and saw two men run in different directions from the scene, the report states.

Attempted murder is punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
