A man escapes an attempted robbery by hitting suspect with tattoo kit case

Myrtle Beach police are investigating an attempted robbery.

A 19-year-old man was walking in the area of 1st Avenue South and Flagg Street Sunday around 12:40 a.m., when according to the police report, he was approached by the suspect.

He told police the suspect raised his shirt to show him a gun and the suspect said, ‘I got this!’ The suspect then demanded the tattoo kit case the victim was carrying. According to the police report, the victim then took the case and hit the suspect in the face and fled.

The victim describes the suspect as a white man about six feet tall with thinning brown hair in his thirties.
