One dead after fire at Little River hotel. Horry County police investigating
One person died in a weekend fire at a Little River hotel, officials confirmed.
Officers responded to the Days Inn, 1564 Highway 17, around 5:30 p.m. Saturday for a fire in one of the rooms, according to an Horry County police report.
The victim was taken to the hospital. Horry County police spokeswoman Mikayla Moskov confirmed the victim later died.
The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the victim.
Statements from witnesses and the fire chief led to “suspicious circumstances,” according to the report. Horry County police are now investigating the blaze.
