A 13-year-old Colorado girl who disappeared from an Ocean Boulevard hotel was found safe Monday in North Carolina, according to Myrtle Beach police Lt. Joey Crosby.
No foul play was suspected in the disappearance of Jalene Olivia Coward, Crosby said.
“At this time, there is no indication or reason to believe that foul play was involved. Investigators continue to investigate this case. Additional information will be released when possible,” he said.
Police said Jalene was on vacation in Myrtle Beach with her family from Colorado Springs, Colo.
Officers responded to the Palace Resort at 1605 S. Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach on Saturday. Police were told that Jalene left the room about 8:45 p.m. to take the trash to the trash chute and did not return. Family members told police Jalene was preparing to go to an arcade before she disappeared.
Police had looked for information on two cars in connection with Jalene’s disappearance – a red Chevrolet Impala with chrome rims and a Mercury Grand Marquis. It was unclear Monday whether either car played a role in her disappearance.
