One dead, one arrested after shooting outside of Loris, Horry County cops say

One person is dead and a 28-year-old man is being charged with murder in connection to a murder in the Loris area.

Horry County police responded to Cedar Branch Drive near Redenbow Lane around 4:20 a.m. for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found a victim face down in the road in a pool of blood, according to a police report.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Hedien Goodman, 22, of Loris. He died at the scene from injuries in the shooting.

On Wednesday afternoon, Horry County police charged Laquandian Jaraffus Bromell, of Longs, with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection to the case. He is being held in J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bond.

He faces up to life in prison if convicted.

Bromell was currently on bond in Horry County for a 2019 charge of failing to stop for a blue light.
