Police charge one with attempted murder in connection to Myrtle Beach shooting

A 29-year-old man faces decades in prison in connection to a shooting in Myrtle Beach earlier this month.

Police charged Timmy Alston Jr., of Myrtle Beach, with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and failure to stop for blue lights.

He was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Saturday and is being held without bond set on the attempted murder charge.

On June 8, Myrtle Beach police went to the Sandygate Apartments on Osceola Street for a reported shooting. All of the people involved fled before police arrived, the report states.

A witness identified Alston as the shooter, according to the report.

Attempted murder is punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
