Myrtle Beach police try to sniff out thief who stole dog from an apartment: report

It’s a dognapping!

Myrtle Beach police are investigating after a dog was reported stolen from a local home.

Around 6:20 p.m. Monday, officers went to an apartment on 28th Avenue North for a reported burglary, according to a report. The victim said when he returned home from work, he noticed the dog was missing.

The window screen by the dining room table was down when the victim returned home, the report states. The only thing that was missing from the apartment was the dog.

The pooch was about 3 years old, black with a patch of gray. The breed is unknown. Police have not released any description of the alleged thief.

It’s unclear if the K9 unit was called in to assist in the investigation.
