Body found in waterway near Socastee, Horry County police investigating
Horry County police are investigating after a body was found in the waterway near Socastee.
The remains were found near Recreation Road around 11 a.m. Sunday, according to Horry police spokeswoman Mikayla Moskov. The investigation continues.
The Horry County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene. On Monday, the Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Kenneth Cox, 35, of Myrtle Beach. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the cause of death.
Moskov said there is no known connection to a shots fired call in the the same area on Friday afternoon.
