Hey, you missed the drugs in my backpack, woman tells cops at Myrtle Beach jail: report

Excuse me officer, you missed drugs in my backpack.

That is what a woman allegedly told Myrtle Beach cops as they dropped her off at jail, according to a report. The woman did it to avoid further charges, she said.

An officer went to 3rd Avenue South around 11:50 p.m. Sunday to help with an intoxicated suspect, according to a police report. The woman — later identified as Jessica Fox, 33 — was jittery, grinding her teeth and making sporadic movements that made police believe she was under the influence.

The officer arrested Fox and searched her before driving her to Myrtle Beach jail, the report states.

As they pulled into jail, Fox told the officer she “wanted to make a deal” and that he missed the drugs in her backpack. Fox also said she didn’t want to be charged for bringing drugs into the jail, according to the report. Officers search the backpack and found a bag with .23 grams of cocaine/meth base, the report states.

Officers charged Fox with public intoxication and second-offense possession of meth/cocaine base less than one gram. She is being held in Myrtle Beach jail without bail set on the drug charge.
