13-year-old charged with attempted murder in connection to shooting in Conway area

A 13-year-old faces three counts of attempted murder in connection to a shooting in Conway last week.

Conway police went to Ernest Finney Avenue on Friday for a report of shots fired, but could not find a victim, officials said. A gunshot victim later arrived at Conway Medical Center.

The victim initially told police he was shot in another area, police said.

Investigators determined that the victim was shot on Ernest Finney Avenue and was in a vehicle with two other victims.

Conway police charged the unnamed teen in connection to the shooting and also arrested him on charges of possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a firearm by certain persons. He is being held by the Department of Juvenile Justice.
