Five people accused of operating burglary, theft ring in Myrtle Beach
Five people operated a theft ring in Myrtle Beach where they stole and burglarized items to sell for money, police say.
In March, Myrtle Beach police started to investigate the theft ring. Investigators determined Jeffery Luvern Davis, Sr., 49, of Myrtle Bach, was the leader and instructed others to burglarize, steal and fraudulently obtain the goods, officers said.
Officers searched a residence tied to the ring on April 24 and found drugs, including Tramadol, heroin and Fentanyl. Police also found stolen credit cards and stolen documents. One of the suspects had a lock pick disguised as a credit card, police said.
Police charged the following people in connection to the ring:
- Davis was charged with criminal conspiracy stolen property offenses, second-offense possession with intent to distribute heroin, second-offense possession of schedule IV drugs and two counts of financial transaction card theft.
- James Gene Morris, 41, of Conway, with James Morris was charged with fugitive from justice for a parole violation in Wake County, North Carolina, and possession of heroin.
- Brittany Danielle Davis, 28 of Conway, with possession of heroin.
- Shawna Monique Cook, 40, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin and Possession of Schedule IV.
- Andrew Morton, 36, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with third-offense possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of schedule IV drug and financial transaction card theft.
