Man arrested after shooting into ‘large crowd,’ Horry County report says

A suspect opened fire into a “large crowd” earlier this month, shooting a 17-year-old, police said.

On April 2, Horry County police officers went to Loris Hospital for a report of a shooting victim.

Officers later determined the shooting happened on S.C. Highway 66 in Loris, according to a police report. A witness told police she saw a man shooting a gun into a crowd.

Horry County police spokeswoman Mikayla Moskov said a 17-year-old boy was shot in the incident.

On Monday, Horry County police charged Christopher William Goodman, 23, with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection to the shooting.

Goodman went on home detention after being released from J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
