Myrtle Beach police make arrest after reports of a gunshot

Myrtle Beach police make an arrest following a gunshot in the 600 block of 36th Avenue North.

About 1:40 Sunday morning, police took Holly Nygaard, 37, into custody for allegedly firing a gun within the city limits of Myrtle Beach.

Nygaard told police she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend, according to the police report.

Nygaard said that after her boyfriend left, the neighbors began harassing her. Because of the harassment, she retrieved the gun from her apartment and returned outside. She then allegedly fired a round into the air, according to the report.

Police did not find any damage from the gunshot.
