Woman charged with attempted murder in connection to Loris stabbing
A 29-year-old woman is accused of stabbing another person during a fight in Loris.
Horry County police charged Lilly Janealle Stephens, of Tabor City, North Carolina, with attempted murder in connection to the incident. Stephens was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Wednesday and released after posting a $30,000 bond.
Stephens faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
Horry County police went to a Loris home on Tuesday for a reported stabbing. When officers arrived, both the suspect and victim were gone, according to a police report. A witness said the victim went to the hospital.
The witness said the victim was asleep in a car, the report states. The witness then heard screaming and saw two women fighting. She then saw one of the people throw a knife in the yard. Another witness told police he saw the victim and Stephens fighting, the report states.
Police found the knife in the yard, the report states.
The victim had injuries to her shoulder and forehead, according to the report.
