Victim suffers life-threatening injuries in Myrtle Beach stabbing, one person charged
A victim had life-threatening injuries after being stabbed during a fight in Myrtle Beach, police say.
Myrtle Beach police arrested and charged Leonard Davis with attempted murder, third-offense distribution of cocaine, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and resisting arrest in connection to the incident. The warrants do not indicate where the stabbing happened, but Davis was arrested in the 800 block of Nance Street.
On Thursday, officers investigated the reported assault and determined Davis stabbed the victim several times, according to warrants.
Davis resisted when police went to arrest him, according to the warrants. As officers searched him, Davis took a bag out of his pants and threw it to the ground. There was one gram of cocaine inside the bag, the warrants state.
Both attempted murder and the drug distribution charges are punishable by up to 30 years in prison. Davis is being held in Myrtle Beach jail without bond.
