Longs man used social media to meet a child before he raped her, police say

A man used social media to meet and later rape a child, according to an arrest report.

Horry County police charged Javier Alexis Ayala Davila, 21, with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. The victim is between 11 and 14 years old.

Davila was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Thursday and remains incarcerated without bond.

In late December, police officers met with the victim at a Little River medical facility, according to the report. The victim said she met Ayala Davila on a social media site three weeks earlier.

The victim then snuck out of her home, and Ayala Davila picked her up, the report states. They went to an unknown location where the sexual assault reportedly happened. Ayala Davila then took the victim back to her home, police said.

Second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Ayala Davila has no criminal history in Horry County other than a speeding ticket, records show.
