Two suspects caught after alleged carjacking in Conway, car chase in Myrtle Beach

Two people face criminal charges after police say they pointed a gun at a victim in his driveway and carjacked his vehicle.

Conway police charged Tyrek Dashawn Chestnut and George Edmonds Tre Richardson, both of Conway, with carjacking and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

On Feb. 5, Conway police went to a Rufus Street home for a report of a carjacking. The victim told officers he was sleeping in his vehicle in his carport, according to a police report.

The suspect knocked on the victim’s car window and demanded his keys and vehicle, according to the report.

The victim said the suspect pointed a handgun at him, while wearing a mask, the report states.

Police say the victim’s vehicle was later involved in a car chase that started in Myrtle Beach.
